I've never even seen a single episode of Robotech and yet I get chills every time I see this promo. I don't want to be that guy who comes in spouting "HURR TODAYS TELEVISION IS SHIT COMPARED TO BACK THEN", but goddamn... it really WAS a special time.

@MrInuhanyou123 I wrote a paper on children's TV violence when I was a kid :) I grew up at a good time, IMO, 70's 80's toons and the rise of Videogames. But also these gave rise to much paranoia. Most toons on American TV in the 80's were made to do one thing, sell toys. They were in fact, 30 min commercials. Many children's rights groups put pressure (forced) on the toy companies to have a percentage of educational content in the shows, e.g., GI Joe PSA's. I knew this and still had fun

the first Gundam came out in japan in 79, macross came out in 82. Robotech came out in the early 90s as an edited version of 3 series taped together, Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, Orguss and Hyper Dimension southen cross

Maybe your referring to the order in which they were introduced in america. In which case yes Robotech did come first,
