This is a simple science project style demonstration, on how a motor can be a generator. I am using a DC motor that I salvaged out of a Wal Mart toy scooter. It is a permanent magnet motor, and very efficient as a generator. If you were to put a regulator and a DC to AC inverter with it, you could get a usable amount of electricity.

    Thnkx for this video and i have an ceiling fan motor of 220 volts but when i rotate it with other motor it wont generate electricity even a VOLT. Man i need your help please tell me how to generate electricity with AC Motor please i will be thank full to you and i am already thankful to you about this video please response me as soon as you can... i Am waiting for your Response... :-)

  • If you get a piece of wire & pass current through it, you'll produce a magnetic field around that wire.. If you take that wire and coil it up, you'll produce magnetism in a concentrated area making it an electromagnet. Put a magnetizing metal near it, and they'll be attracted to each other. Use it in the right way and you can get a shaft to turn....

    Now take that motor you just created and spin its shaft... You'll do the opposite... produce electricity from magnetism passing over the coils...

  • @PoppyFizzFred electricity goes through copper coils around magnets, this creates an electro magnet repelling the magnets making them move, turning the chuck. Say you had a wind mill plugged in the chuck of your drill and it was turning that would turn the magnets past the copper coils to create electricity, its just the same process but in reverse

  • Put thin silver over glass over aluminium alloy, and put in sun. The N over P solar generator only works because the denser layer is above the less-dense layer underneath, so the light has to accelerate across the boundary, hence to jump the boundary, it has to absorb enery -- correct? And on the less-dense layer it slows down and has to release energy -- also correct? So why the hell wouldn't it work?

    Worth a shot?

  • Just wondering... how is it generating ( a profit of ) electricity if the drill needs electricity to run? ... It would just defeat the purpose. But awesome anyhow!
