same thing happened to me..i have an 80gb classic and it made my brand new dell latitude blue screen..im not gonna take the risk of messing up my laptop cuz of a stupid ipod

This happens with my iPhone 2g. As far as my expieriences go, all you need to do is restart your iPod, then connect the iPod end before the USB end, and try a few times, it'll work.

reset your ipod thru settings on your ipod then connect your ipod up watever you dont i repeat DONT use the ipods back up because it will blue screen it again you have to start the ipod fresh and put all your songs and apps on again. hope i helped you out

Looks like you have a P4 2 ghz from 2003 or something so I figure you dont have the best PSU.
It could be a PSU problem, or it could be a driver issue. I would try to uninstall the ipod drivers and reinstall them. Is your XP OS up to date?

my drives r up to date it just hasnt been converted to vista thats it
