Seek to Understand Before You Are Understood

Since 2008, local Arizona filmmakers and artists who care about the past, present, future of Arizona and the Nation have been working on the Embracing America Movement.

Arizona is ground zero for the national immigration discussion. Given the level of controversy, merely dispensing news won't do. This emotionally charged issue requires active mediation and community involvement to stop band-aids, lack of action from the federal government, the mainstream media's sensationalism & generalizations, political agendas that don't benefit or include the working class, and misunderstandings due to lack of honest communication and conscious listening.

Embracing America's Values:
Integrity, Dialogue, Education, Awareness, Objectivity, Honesty, Collective Solutions, Faith, Empowerment, Diversity, Mind Progression & Love

Embracing America's Mission:
-To stop victimizing and vilifying the participants in this debate

-To present (via videos, blogs, diverse cultural events, mediated virtual and physical town-halls) a wide range of perspectives on how people are impacted by the issue of immigration, so that we can bridge the divides.

-To create an objective, non-partisan multimedia platform where honest in-depth discussions amongst varying perspectives are taken into consideration to make the best decisions.
-To team up with local artists and musicians to create a bigger impact.
-To encourage collaboration within our communities.

Embracing America is composed of diverse ethnic backgrounds, religions and party affiliations. This diversity creates accountability and maintains balance. What unites us are our common values, willingness to do something about our state and to create a better future for all.

Help us strengthen the People's Voice. Help us expand this vision.

  • this is the future of America -Love

  • @MrDzikakiszka Thank you for seeing that: )

  • Why couldn't you also interview Alfredo Gutierrez? The only Latino you have here is someone who is good buddies with Russell Pearce (Montenegro)...They allowed FAIR (a white nationalist tied group) to write SB 1070...these people who wrote this law ultimately want the latino population to cease to grow..

  • @LaAnnaGee Thank you for your comment/ feedback. Alfredo Gutierrez is a great man and his interview and endorsement are in the works. Everyone has been quite busy and understandably so. I think you may have overlooked Luz Sarmina and the great work her and her organization do for the Latino community. Please understand that this video is not the final destination. We have many endorsements for this movement from all sides and we will continue to release those in the future.
