Oceanside High School Band: 2006 Band Spectacular

On November 8, 2006, the Marching Bands from both of Oceanside's high schools, Oceanside and El Camino, as well as 8th graders from the three Oceanside middle schools, gathered on the OHS football field for the 2006 Band Spectacular. This video is the Oceanside High School Marching Band and Color Guard's performance at the event.

We enjoyed having you! It was great for our kids to get to see your rehearsals. It helped inspire a lot of our kids to go to Semi's at the Rose Bowl with us, and they had a blast.

???? work on power. i saw u guys at the vista comp. and.....techincally you guys FORCED the judges to give you a higher score than us. you guys could never beat us just alone. you guys are small;;like only 60 ppl. 80 counting color guard. annnnd may a remind you we have 120? and may i remind you again.... were playing an AWESOME song called gangsta jazz. vista hates us, thats all.

How exactly do you figure we forced the judges to give us a better score? Small bands almost always get an unwritten penalty just for being smaller than the rest.

Uh, most people in the band seems to prefer a wide shot, so that you can actually see what the whole show looks like. And who likes to perform during the day? Marching shows always look better under the lights.

Who care sabout the instrumentation! Your directors need to either make someone in this band play an alto voice part or make them play an instrument that has an alto voice. This band sounds like it has a giant whole in it. I don't me to sound rude if I do, but seriously, you guys need to get your problem fixed! Decent band, colorguard needs to learn how to count.

Where is the middle of the band??? I hear tubas and high brass. It would be nice if you worked on the balance of the band and try at all times to have your musical pyramid.

ehh. it was overall just an ok and average marching band performance. except for the flute solo that is. the flute solo was good.
