Chak Abdul Khaliq, the historic village in Jhelum dates back to time when Sher Shah Suri ruled and built Rohtas fort for security from Gakkar tribes. Syed Abdul Khaliq Shah a saint of his time came to Rohtas and served for some time as adviser of Sher Shah. Soon he left Rohtas and came to area later known as Chak Abdul Khaliq. Another saint Shah Chan Chiragh now resting in Rohtas was son of Syed Abdul Khaliq Shah.This village produced series of saints and teachers who did great service for spiritual guidance to vast surrounding areas. Many notable personalities including Syed Zamir Jaffri and number of Civil and Military Officers received their education and mentoring from this village. Music added with thanks of owners
