  • @richard42960 Nokie played bass with the Ventures only for the first couple of years during the early days, he was then switched to lead and played for more than 30 years, despite replaced temporary by Jerry McGee from late-60's to early-70's, he was then returned and played for a couple more decades. Most of the famous Ventures hits after 1962 were mostly played by Nokie. But I think playing bass wasn't really wasting his talent as he's always superb on both bass and lead^_^.
