@RyanK76 Hey there! I erased my windows OS and installed Ubuntu. I was able to play Quake Live (a fps game) VERY well in windows. Now its slow and bogs down. I was hoping you had found a solution to your driver issue ? I know nothing about installing drivers in linux. Ive done all the updates. I have a res of 1400x900. My card is a Intel mobile chipset 4. Thanks for any information you can provide me. I am hoping to figure this out soon!

I can run dual head TwinView with a 2-monitor desktop and with some tweaks to my xorg.conf I have configured it so that for fullscreen applications, I can run them on one screen and still see the (graphically updated) applications on my X-Desktop on the other screen, which comes in *very* handy when gaming :) With Everquest, I can smoothly scroll over with my mouse cursor from the fullscreen game window to the X-Desktop.
Is Intel Graphics a chipset of its own? If there's an NVidia-Chipset behind it, you might wanna install the NVidia native chipset drivers for Linux (which you get from NVidia site), otherwise you might wanna *get* an NVidia card ;) They're not really that expensive anymore (I am using NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT which is down to a mere 47 Euros) - from my researching the web, NVidia seems to have the best support for Linux drivers.

Actually, it is its own chipset (Intel GM45 Express) and not merely a wrapper around nvidia. There are 3 main vendors: ATI, Intel & nVidia. Intel is often what is integrated directly on the motherboard and is actually quite powerful in terms of 3D performance. Upgrading isn't an option as this is a laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad T500)! I'm posting this to see if all Intel users have similar issues with other games to help determine where the issue may be with the Driver, Wine or the EQ Graphics DLL.
