How to light a wood stove fire

I learned a new technique to build a fire: top- down. I've successfully tested it las night: put your 2-3 logs at the bottom, add kindling on the top, then newspaper [tip- instead of just crumpling the newspaper make lose knots like you would do with a piece of string] and light it up controlling the air flow the same way as in this video.
this way you don't have to add later and risk smoldering your fire.

1) Use only seasoned wood
2) Burn hot (but reduce air intake if the air pipes (ones with holes) get red hot so you do not damage the stove).
3) Every once in a while clean glass (only when it is cold) with a mixture of dish soup and ash. Using paper towel rub the glass stain clean. Never use any abrasive material which would scratch the glass.

Dry wood is a must. I remember that when I lived in Canada, I ordered fire wood that was not as dry as advertised and it was a total pain to start fires. Some nights I just gave up. However, once the fire roared and was fed sensibly, even wood that was not fully seasoned burned very well.

Fuel your stove with cardboard, newspapers, phone bills, I.R.S. summons and love letters.

@dan1427 Also I've been using about 5 self lighting briquettes for a BBQ grill. Lite those under your wood and it takes a lot of the headache out of the rest of it. IT WORKS LIKE A CHAMP TO START THE STOVE UP.

sry grade, but I recall the American Revolution and War of 1812....don't think you "gave" anything. we took what is ours. meanwhile, liberalism has given you a navy that runs away then apologizes to Iranian terrorist regime. sad, because i think highly of the brits of old.
Seriously though...a lot of vids go on and on where the topic is quite simple. why do people think lighting a wood stove is complex? hardest part dealing w/stove is making it burn long w/out back-puffing.
