Every evening at dusk, bats leave from under this freeway overpass here in Round Rock, TX. This video shows the many thousands of bats as they leave.

  • yikes! that is ALOT of bats!!!!

  • Im guessing the bats have gotten used to living right under I-35.

  • Lately, I've noticed some sort of hawk or eagle or some birds of prey lingering around when the bats fly out... It's pretty awesome to see them hunting the bats in mid-flight. Crazy when nature and urban living collide like that.

  • I love the bats! Thanks for the video! I love to see them fly out in the Summer evenings. I wonder why Round Rock does not embrace them like Austin does their bat colonies. I am assuming that they are the migatory Mexican Free Tail bats.

  • absolutely an awesome video of nature at it's best. It boggles the mind to think of the bugs/mosquitoes they need to sustain themselves for so many!

What a great video to see on Halloween!

  • great quality video! I drive my them as they emerge when I am coming home from work. This alone makes Round Rock an awesome place to live!

  • those bats are amazing i watch them mostly everyday! Their amazing!
