These toys are hand carved using traditional hand tools. The very first toy was made over 300 years ago in a small village "Bogorodskoye". Made from solid Linden wood they come alive and smile when you swing them in a circular motion.

The first man who made those toys was a poor man in the Bogorodskoye village and he had 11 kids. He could not afford to buy them toys but, he did have a knife and plenty of trees outside. For his youngest son he carved a bear that would raise his arms and legs when a string was pulled. From then on other's started making similar toys for their children and sell them on the local flee-market.
