Those upcoming economies need food. Afghanistan has China on one side and India on the otherside. So food is a very good investment. If they would burn those poppyfields and give them a alternative, Afghanistan will not only build up their economy, that Taliban will have no chance. Also saves you American money on your war on drugs.

That war can last for ever the way it's been faught now. The Russians have been there.. and went home, because it was hopeless and endless for them.

I think America is not very handy in fighting wars. That cost us all loads of money. That war in Iraq and Afghanistan.. it's all about oil and strategy of having the posibility to isolate Iran. Because they should not be the ones to provide the upcoming economies in Asia with oil.

When we want to destroy that Taliban, we should make them moneydry, now it's the way around. Those Afghan farmers building poppy used for heroin. Thats how the Taliban finance their side of the war.

i couldnt agree more...and its from generations of corrupt politicians motgaging our future to line their friends and lobbyist pockets and the companies they work for. we need another leader like FDR to run this country with the common mans interest as a priority. the good thing is..our capitalist society will bouce back with its free market enterprises...we are the land of milk and honey...we have the power to bounce back...we just need to expose these crooks like obama!!!

As I seem to remember, it was Bush t'was in office when this massive shit hit the fan. I am not black btw, & I fully believe, that the full impact of the economy can't possibly be cured in a month or two. If you have suffered, I'm sorry, but so am I. Big time. Any dream I have is on pause & I don't like it one bit! But I have faith in Obama. Bush & his bullshit have destroyed us, not Obama. He is trying. It WILL take time, but a good future is better than a bad one.
