  • These so Called "fags" are in more places then you think. Most of the time they are the better Airman, Sailors, Soldiers, and Marines, but get out of the military because its a hard life to live. They are out there protecting what you take for granted everyday. You either aren't in the military and know nothing about it or you are to blind to see what is around you... and why do i know this you ask? Because I am a Gay Sailor that is serving his country while sorry people such as yourself relax.

Lt. Dan Choi, infantry platoon leader, for one. Stop being foolish. There are thousands of gays and lesbians in the military. They run the gamut from linguists to mortarmen.

  • will gays make the US military more effective and successful? Or will gays cause the US Military to re-gress like Britain, France and Germany's have encountered or the past 20+ years? I hope no one is killed or maimed because of this new distraction. Odd and unusual quote of the Day: "I've served with homosexuals since 1968." ADM Michael Mullenhead. Too bad the Chairman is more focused on social engineering tharather than destroying Al Qaida. Thanks Mike!

  • Hell is empty, and all the devils are here...

  • @ctvwr -Jarhead 0311 2001-2009-Yes gays have been in the Marines as well. Nobody cares about your sexual orientation or lifestyle. Just cover me in a firelight! The UCMJ will take care of all the misbehavior! Both hetro and homo! So when do we get women serving next to us in combat? Full integration! Showers and living spaces? Again the UCMJ will be the guide and law as its always been. Hell it worked in Starship Troopers. :) LOL

  • We've made civilian society so anticlerical and hedonistic that our national ethos has shifted from Biblical Christianity to state idolatry. Now we've a President committed to making the armed forces as decadent, as putrid as civilian society.

  • @dino0967 Well I agree with Don't Ask Don't Tell but I do not agree with discharging the service member if it does come out. Strong leadership in the militray is needed to contain this but there are a lot of immature service members and leaders...we'll see what happens with this. I hope something good comes out.

  • @redthreemike, Sure people would still lie about their sexuality and no people would not just come out in droves. I agree. The difference would be that gay and lesbian servicemembers would no longer face automatic discharge if ACCIDENTLY found out or outed by a third party. Any potential problems that might occur, and I think there would be very few if any, could be contained by strong leadership which Admiral Mullen said in his testimony.

  • @dino0967 Even if it were to be repealled people in the service would still lie about their sexuality. Just because this would be passed doesn't mean service members would just come out. It would just make for a better working environment and better unit cohesion if this was left in place. You can say this is about deception vs discretion but I think it's more about protecting the individual service member. The repeal of this policy will cause more problems.

  • @redthreemike, Also, if you watched the video, Admiral Mullen called for the repeal of DADT because it forces gays and lesbians to lie. Should people be compelled to lie about who they are? It isn't asking too much for gays and lesbians to be discreet about their sexuality, but "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is about deception and not discretion.

  • @redthreemike, We should repeal the law because a third party can out someone to their unit and/or rumors can get started about someone being gay or lesbian and they can be discharged for that reason. Gays and lesbians can and do already serve as police officers, firefighters, defense contractors and Civilian Employees of the Department of Defense. They apparently act appropriately and behave accordingly.

  • @dino0967 Well if that's the case then why not just keep the policy in place? I'm not against homosexuals in the military but I do know from experience how others react when they find out when someone is gay. I would just hate to see a negative outcome of this.
