SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR MURDER
(Palm Bay)—A suspect is now in custody facing murder charges after detectives with the Major Case Unit developed enough evidence to connect him to the crime. Steven Briner, (DOB (09-07-1973) was arrested at his home without incident. On Monday just after 6:40 a.m. patrol officers responded to 2009 Paradise Court NE after a relative of the man who resided at the duplex called for help. Once on scene it was determined the male inside was deceased and was the victim of a homicide. Detectives with the Major Case Unit responded along with crime scene investigators and immediately secured the scene and began the investigation. The victim was identified as Vincent Price, (DOB 03-01-1967). Further investigation yielded Briner as a possible suspect. As detectives continued to investigate they obtained evidence from both the scene and other locations. The evidence directly linked Briner to the killing. Right now we believe the motive is robbery, said Detective Mark Mynheir. There is a possibility it may also involve drug activity. We found a significant amount of crack cocaine at the murder scene. The investigation is ongoing and no other information is available for release at this time.
