James Kalm takes a break from his Art Fair Marathon to visit this opening in Chelsea. James Siena is known for his small enamel paintings on metal, which are based on abstract interpretations of algorithmic patterns. With this, his second show with the gallery, we're presented with several new paintings on copper and aluminum, large scale drawings and the artist introduces a new direction with a series of grotesque head studies. Featuring interviews with Gary Stephen and Lydia Dona

  • Dear "Kalm Report" fans, there's a feature article in today's (April 23) LA Times, Arts and Culture section on the "Kalm Report" and the "Jeff Koons On the Roof" program by staff writer Thomas Mulligan Check it out, JK

  • Nice show, too bad video hates close lines. Interesting to see that a large part of the attendees are artists, much like every city, but on a much more lauded scale. Imagine bumping into someone like Chuck Close here in Indy... Yow!

  • Well, it's better than having a problem his colon, or CO-LONE!

  • Liked not loved. My grandmother used to pinch my toes and diagnose the state of all of my organs by the pattern of my flinches. Perhaps we should call in a gastroenterologist. My brothers and sisters all tried to never flinch and she would just pinch harder. I learned that it is best to react quickly and often. Thanks, thanks, thanks. Flinch, flinch, flinch.
