Icarus Wings (Original Poem)

Wherein I read "Icarus Wings" to you, after a two minute long introduction.

Icarus Wings (2004/2010)

Likewise Icarus wings were burned by the sun
my heart was scrambled and dead within moments
In the next it got carried away by a dove into the high heaven
Above me I can see the angles fly high; I can hear your voice shim from the sky

Was this your whisper in the wind - could that maybe a miraculous hint?
Could I catch a glimpse of your fabulous smile - one more time to make it worthwhile?
Am I allowed to see into your mirror eyes - to see my reflection, not all the lies?
Our mourning isnt silent, we are crying out loud -Will you come back out of the clouds?

Icarus thoughts through his last moments were few
About his senseless rejection of his fathers warnings which he argued
In just a split second he lost his ride likewise an angel
Without wings he fell from the sky - into his dead, still asking why?

Is this your writing at the board - could that be a present you brought?
Could I take a picture of you - one more moment frozen in time instead of a few?
Are we allowed to talk to you we need to hear you once more, before we do.
As much as I wish you to rest in peace, as much I want you to haunt the thief!

Likewise Icarus dead body never was found
My heart went away onto another living ground
The sun gave her light through the cloudy clouds
To guide her heart the way to another crowded day

Was this your last breath - I could hear through the wind?
Could I get over your taken picture - that fades away like the ending of a motion picture?
Am I allowed that book to close - just to stop that feelings go?
The years have come and gone and we still cant stop to mourn!

Dome this is really beautiful. Even more so now that I've heard you read it instead of just reading it myself. The hardest things in life are the ones that we know we will never be able to understand or come to terms with. When there is no conclusion--no end to the pain. I'm so sorry for such a huge loss. My heart aches that yours still does after so long. Wherever Melanie is now, I have no doubt that you're making her smile.
