hit that main nerve running down the body not a spine shot i wouldnt be proud of the shot but nice harvest

Looked at 30 sec. Yes, neck shot which equals spine shot. The spine is not on the top edge under the fur. It's a few inches down.

I saw three deer drop on the spot this year with three different broadheads. Only one was a spine shot, it angled upwards, one was right behind the shoulder through ribs and the last one went through ribs at right angle and stopped behind other shoulder, had to skin deer to get the head. Nice shot, good kill.

That was a lucky shot. Is that really where you were aiming? Never seen the kill zone in front of the shoulder before.

@ManOfKnight I didn't know that the spine was in the middle of the body. thats good to know. lol classic

Is the entry hole about the same size as the exit ? I only c people showing the exit hole on their videos, been thinking about getting me a pack to hunt with

nice vid and cool kill

@ManOfKnight it WAS NOT a spine shot look at 30 seconds and you can clearly see it hit in the front of the shoulder. not above it.

It's not the broadhead nor the spine. The arrow hit her on the shoulder. But, she start falling before the arrow hit her. She was already spooked before the shot, looking at the direction of the camera. Almost reminds me of fainting goats, that fall down when they are scared. Regardless; nice doe, nice shot, nice video...
it dropped in its place because it hit it in the spine...above the shoulder...right behind her neck.
They are great broadheads but that isn't what dropped the deer...notice your lack of penetration, it was the spine being broken that caused her to drop in place.

@ManOfKnight as I stated earlier:
what is deceiving about this vid is that the first 1/3 of the arrow went on thru the deer. The vid looks like it stops right away but as the deer was moving it snapped the arrow and stopped 2/3 of the shaft from going anywhere...the broadhead exited high in the neck...it struck the shoulder blade and veered up...I wouldn't use a mechanical for elk but sure would on deer...jmho

I would go with a 125 grain for elk and a 100 grain for deer...thats my advice
