I needed a reliable way to know when my father (with Parkinson's was getting out of bed). A search at my local Wallmart turned up a GE-51207 Motion Sensor & a GE-19208 wireless Door Bell.. Turns out it's not hard to marry the two into a single system that performs the function I was looking for.
If you have a similar need, maybe this will help

  • Appreciate the comments and the interest.. The video was intended to be a step by step although highly compressed view of what was done. Basically, you are doing two changes. 1. disabling the local speaker, & 2. Using one of the transistors on the sensor to perform the button function on the wireless doorbell.. What I'd sugest is try using the pause button at some of the key points in the video. Also I have since learned that radio shack makes a finished version of this, so thats another option

  • Okay this is perfect. its a wireless alarm that goes off wherever the alarm is at. I would like to build this, and i saw both components at walmart. The video was very hard to fallow though. Can you please help me create this brilliant design. Aka more directions, a video that shows step by step... thanks!
