@dilwich123 they are called detonators they are clips with gunpowder in them when evr a train goes over them they make a explosion

the windsock is actually this guy too lazy to put on his PPE correctly, the det going off is likely due to the driver drawing forward running over the first det at the block which is the flashing board in the four foot, you have a det at the board, then one 20 sleepers each way ( 3 dets ) , the other chap is putting the barriers under local control fro the purpose of the train as oposed to them being track circuit operated by the signaller
