hilarious! my favourite scene. The totally disengaged mother and child, that dialogue! Glorious. But why do i have the impression that the clip is from 'Radio Days'? Could be wrong though.

What I have observed in Annie Hall is that is they just talk and talk but we still laugh.

I know people that are like that. Woody Allen's character is a frustrated, nervous intellectual, but he's also very self-centered. Diane Keaton's character is the "dumb shiksa" who he sets out to transform. But it the end she outgrows him.
