Eve Online: Death of the Titan

This is something I found, and since no one else has uploaded it yet, I decided to: The destruction of ASCN's Titan in Eve Online. (As far as I know, it was the only Titan in the game.)

from what I've seen, apparantly these guys took advantage of a login problem on the server and killed an unmanned shit. Apparently a that thing would of one shot that whole fleet with a single click.

@KillTyrant A lot of it maybe, but not the whole fleet. It could have destroyed anything smaller than a Battleship with a single shot. Maybe an extremely well tanked Battlecruiser could have survived as well. The problem is this particular weapon takes an hour to recharge, so the Titan one shots half the fleet and the other half has an hour before it can do it again. Believe it or not, the weapon (whose name I forget atm) is actually considered useless by most people.

@KillTyrant Well, Titans have bays inside them so it could have launched any ships inside, if the pilots were logged in. It could have opened a gate for reinforcements to warp in as well. As for warping, well, Titans are really, really slow about that. It probably would have been destroyed before it could engage the warp; also, I think the super weapon takes so much energy to fire that it temporarily puts the Titan's other systems offline so it can't do anything. Not positive about that, though.

@astrosteve Were they nerf'd or something?? It hardly seems worth it if something that takes 3 months to make has no was to protect itself outside of a 1 per hour use weapon.

@KillTyrant Titans are intended to be support in fleet battles. They aren't really intended to be able to survive as solo ships. They're basically a mobile space station. They're good at moving large numbers of ships around and fulfilling support roles. If you want a gigantic combat ship, try a Dreadnaught. Those things are insane.

@astrosteve It's called the doomsday. It's perfect against 1 ship or 2 maybe. But Titan is best as a carrier and as a thing tht scares the @!& out of pepol. + Dreadnaught pwns ;)
