Question: is his house heated with hot water or is this just for showers, dish washer and other?
I ask because I have a boiler in my house for heating and would be interested in something simular. Thanks.

John's house has baseboard hot water. he has 3 sources of heat for that water, solar, the Elm, and the oil fired boiler. He keeps the oil boiler turned off most of the time. This provides hot water for all domestic needs, showers, dishes, clothes washer, you name it. The water from his wood stove was just over 130 degrees when I was there. Solar about the same.

he must have water that takes its place in the lines, and an air relief valve. The purpose of the video was to give an overview of the system, and not so much to give you specific details. Each installer might have his or her own preferences as to those details.
