@sporister actually, the HL2DQ team (that has done a speedrun of HL2) are doing it without a crowbar, by flying on props instead of breaking the planks. The SourceRuns team (that has done episode 1) are doing it without a crowbar too (i think) so it is possible, but you are not supposed to be able to do it (flying on props wasnt meant to be possible xD) but fighting with only the crowbar is not meant to be impossible.
