England's bowlers showed cool heads on a hot day, as the WACA pitch gave little assistance to the seamers.
Stuart Broad and James Anderson stood out, with the former collecting three wickets and Anderson picking up one in Western Australia's 242-8 declared.
Despite losing Alastair Cook before the close, Anderson was happy with England's first foray into competitive action and saw it as a good start to the tour.

Good point by Jimmy that England are better off playing proper 11-a-side games rather than meaningless warm-ups which don't even have first class status.
