The Sola Yoga Project is an initiative with the purpose of bringing yoga and meditation to Afghanistan and its surrounding region. By using these ancient methods of peace and wellbeing, Afghanistan's population will be able to create a sustainable model of non-violence for future generations.

  • Ricky Martin brough me here

  • The most amazing clip was the comment at the jail when Colonel Allah Mohamad Khan said, "If you get permission to teach the detainees it will be great." "But why?" "Because all they think about is when they will be released and why they were put behind bars. So your teachings will help them to overcome adversity."

  • Wow, this is great. I would have never thought that the Afghans would be open to such things. This is really interesting since Afghanistan used to be a centre of Buddhism prior to Islam's arrival and meditation was practiced there for centuries. I suspect they will have better receptivity from the Dari speakers and in Herat. Some Sufi groups do practice some forms of meditation but its not really open to everybody. God bless you for doing this for Afghanistan!!

  • Inspirational.. may peace and prosperity prevail in Afghanistan.. :)

  • very nice

  • If you really pay attention, you should be able to use any talent, even the smallest, or specialty you have to bring hope and open a window where there are only walls. The children often feel trapped by the adults'fear and vision. They sense it all. Same with prisoners. Why don't WE ALL show them how to breathe?

  • very cool

  • great!!!

  • grand project

  • @nbmp80 Me too :)

It's always nice to hear about people who want to do good and help unprivileged people.
