  • That "howl" is coming from the burner, and it's a pretty common problem on these butane-fired engines, caused by the gas resonating through the "poker" burner. A simple fix is to wrap the poker with stainless steel mesh, which alters the flow enough to stop it from resonating. Since this video was taken, Eric has applied this fix to his Sandy River 24, and in more recent videos it's much quieter.
