"Jean Pierre" was the name of one of Miles' French girlfriends son who was a little boy at the time Miles recorded it. ......True story-I walked into the 55 Bar in NYC back around 1991. Stern had been playing the "Jean Pierre"melody in his solo. On the break I asked him about it. He said he had no memory of the title or even that it was on a record. He said his brain was "occupied" w/ various illicit chemicals at the time and it affected his memory. He's been clean for many years ,playing great.
