This is a video that is trying to show to others two kinds of noises that my car is making. One is a squeaking noise that happens when the car starts and the clutch pedal is not pressed in (clutch is engaged), and stops when the clutch pedal is pressed in (clutch is disengaged). This has been happening at an increasing rate for the past month or so. The second noise is one that I just heard for the first time today, and happens when the clutch pedal is pressed in (clutch is disengaged), and stops when the clutch pedal is not pressed it (clutch engaged). It is hard to tell the difference in the noises, but you can hear the noise start a few seconds before the voices say "IN", because it was taking my brother a minute to relay the message.

  • how serious is it.

  • Turns out it was the throwout bearing going, which is a must-repair. Since getting to the transmission is such a pain, you really might as well buy the clutch kit and replace the pressure plate and clutch disc as well.

I am in the process of doing that, switching to a single mass flywheel, and putting in a new center bearing and some shifter linkage parts. I will put up videos of the project when it is finished to show people what I did.

  • Very serious if you can't repair it yourself, eventually the bearing will seize, then every time you push the clutch it will stall the engine.

This is one thing you can not let go, if you do need to drive the car try to push the clutch as little as possible.

This problem happens 2 ways 1 you keep or rest your foot on the clutch while driving. or 2 someone adjusted the clutch and removed the small gap(Play) in the clutch causing the bearing to be in constant motion, 50 miles will do it.
