These claims are rather inaccurate. The NAB would like you to think that the Federal government is going to to give 40% of the tv station in this country the AXE. That is not at all the case. Even if 40% of the spectrum is re-allocated (re-purposed) the stations would merely vacate their current channel and resume broadcasting on another channel. Viewers would have to press the re-scan button on their digital TVs and tuners. Thats it.

I only have broadcast myself. I can't afford cable. I hope thy keep a few channels for weather news and emergencies. I am on the internet more than watching TV. I don't like to sit around and just watch TV but sometimes the TV is the only thing that keeps me calm during tornado warnings.
