Following the events of Sonic 2, Sonic and Tails travel to a mysterious floating island in order to investigate the crashed Death Egg, and to see if Robotnik is still alive.

However, upon reaching their destination, Sonic is attacked by the island's guardian, an echidna named "Knuckles".

He steals the Chaos Emeralds and disappears, leaving Sonic and Tails to traverse the island's many zones unprotected. Undeterred, Sonic races on through the jungle, eager to reclaim the Chaos Emeralds and catch up with Knuckles for some well deserved payback

And thus, the events of Sonic 3 and Knuckles begin...

sonic lately has had some shitty games but hes always had some amazing music
