The Roberta Martin Singers - He Didn't Mind Dying (1952)

Regarded as one of Chicago's greatest female soloists, the late, great Rev. Myrtle Jackson's vocal delivery was heavily influenced by that gospel haven's Grand Lady of song, Roberta Martin.

Possessed of a unique soprano voice with a noticeably aching quality, Jackson's voice was instrumental in the creation of some of the Martin Singers' greatest recordings including the classics "He's My Light", "I Don't Mind", and "Come In the Room".

"He Didn't Mind Dying" was written by Myrtle Jackson and arranged by Roberta Martin.

Our senior choir used to sing this song. I always thought they were saying "He did my dying"...good to hear this again and get the right lyrics

I remember the Rev. myrtle Jackson we were all members of the Redeeming Church of Christ were Bishop James L. Anderson was our pastor. Alot singer came from there, Pastor Isaac Whitmon, Rev. Clarence Sayles, Rev. James L Neely, Inez Andrews just to name a few.
