Extremely sad part of the series. I wonder if this will still be the case. Our planet a mere entry in some alien database, because we were stupid.

I'm sure a number of vested interests would prevent him from reaching that level. Look at the disorientation our culture experiences in light of climate science. Vested interests with infulence in the media are preventing people from knowing the truth. The War on Terror is another bogus distraction. No one person should be in charge, but governments should listen to scientists, although not all scientists were of the same beliefs as Sagan (Teller and von Neumann).

Our population is approaching 7 billion, you would need far less than a millionth of that amount to minimally regenerate the human species. Imagine planets with possibly humanoids that have tens of billions or trillions in population, who knows. We are a few centuries at most from venturing across the solar system. Wether we are alone or not more than half the planets in our solar system would not be detected around a near by star and there are hundreds of billions in our galaxy alone.
