  • you haven't heard anything until you hear SJSU's Concert Choir sing this. it's like when you hear something soooo amazing, that no matter what, you'll never hear anything as good. i WISH there was a youtube video of it, but i barely heard them sing it on friday, and it wasn't a school concert, it was an invitational Choral Festival, but wow. it was amazing.

  • well, that soprano part is faaarrrr from easy.. that is a high A at the end of that ascending run. not easy to hit by any standards..

and these sopranos are really the only ones that i have seen on youtube (other than moses') that have hit it.

but yes, there certainly is no beating moses hogan. they destroy.

  • Whenever I hear it start out with that dumb Moses Hogan chanting nonsense, I leave. That isn't how the song goes, nor is it good.

  • @5irobot I had the freaking high part! Its so hard to sing and it takes so much energy! I know too its not an easy piece!

  • The sops do sound good, but tempo is too slow.

  • i love this version ... they made the soprano part look way easier than it is... trust i had to sing this in my choral group

  • this is the best one i herd they are really good

  • One of the best performances of this song I've heard yet. I think the basses tried running away a bit in the beginning with the tempo.

Dynamics were pretty amazing here. There are some spots that could have still been worked out but they're not too bad. Very very nice

  • The chamber choir I'm in is going to sing that song! I cant wait!!

  • The basses at the beginning are way out of tune. and the vowels need real work because they are not consistent a but really great sound.

  • omg their wearing our outfit...that was fine,,,nead vowels....GO BOYTON high school yeay us

  • Probably second best version I've heard since Moses Hogan choir In my opinion.

Only notes I have, is everyone didn't seem to follow dynamic markings so well...

And it seems that EVERYONE messes the end of the song up which is the MOST POWERFUL moment of the entire song.

I'm not saying they didn't follow the markings well, it's more like... it wasn't dramatic... Like how Moses Hogan choir held some of the notes Longer. It just made everything sound even better.
