Tinsley Cooling Towers Sheffield Demolition

3am 24Th August 2008 the cooling towers came down ....almost!! At 0300 BST the blast to reduce the "salt and pepper pots" to rubble left part of the north tower still standing but it has since collapsed.

ive passed them EXACT towers about 5 times seeing my cousin in sheffield, sadly he moved to austrailia now :(

it was a happy occasion, but sad at the same time cos they were british landmarks... everytime we drove past them on motorway, we new it was sheffield.

No its a small powerstation, will not need any towers that size. It will probably burn solid 'Green' fuel.
