TBONTB (a vampire) chapter 6, Spying, part 3

Even while knowing Edward and Alice were somewhere in the house, I felt alone and afraid as I got into bed that night.
I laid awake and waited for sleep. My eyes wouldnt obey my brains command to close them.
I suddenly heard my lullaby being hummed, but it didnt seem to help. I turned over several times.
"Bella, are you ok?" I heard Edward ask.
"Edward? Where are you?" I whispered back.
"Im under your bed. Im hiding just in case Charlie decides to check on you. Can you see my hand?"
He stuck his arm out. I found his cold pale hand in the darkness. I held on tight to it. He massaged my hand in his.
"Anything I could do to make you feel better?" he asked.
"I'd feel better if I could see your face." I muttered.
"Bella, I dont really know...your dad could walk in at any moment."
"Please? At least gimme a kiss!"
"Ok, ok."
He rose up from the floor with so much grace, it dazzled me. I felt a shiver of happiness go through me-something I hadnt felt in awhile.
He leaned forward and gently kissed my lips. He held that kiss for a long moment, then slowly pulled away.
"I love you so much." He told me.
"I love you, too!" I said.
"You are mine forever." He crooned lovingly.
"Mmm" I agreed. I sat up and hugged him. "Wheres Alice?"
"Circling your house. Shes guarding it outside. Im guarding the inside."
I got up and looked out the window. Alice was leaping from tree to tree, quietly and swiftly. She noticed me standing there and waved. I waved back.
I turned back around. Edward had resumed his place under the bed. I got on my bed and laid down.
"Do you want me to sing to you?" Edward asked.
"Please." I said.
His voice helped soothe me, but I dont think I completely fell asleep. Because of that, I was feeling sleep deprived the next day when I woke up.
I sat up in bed and remembered it was Sunday. I stepped out of bed and noticed I could walk again! I hadnt noticed when I went to my window last night (I was practically sleepwalking.) The cuts still ached but not as much as they had been.
I walked to the window and looked outside to see if I could spot Alice.
"If youre looking for Alice, she left to follow Charlie around while hes at work." Came a gentle voice from behind me.
Edward was sitting on the edge of my bed. He smiled at me. I ran into his arms.
"Alright, Bella." Edward said after a moment. "Im getting thirsty! "
I jumped back.
"I thought you just went hunting a few days ago." I inquired.
"Yes, but remember I had to stop because you went berserk.'
"Right."
"Dont feel bad, Bella! its a good thing you ran into the forest. Though I do wish you had put on some shoes first..."
"Edward, you need to hunt. Go before you do something we'll both regret!"
"Fine. Ill be back in a few hours. I call Alice and have her come here and you two can hang for the day."
I knew what that meant. Shopping, shopping and more shopping. I palmed my cell phone, happy that Edward couldnt read my mind.
He gave me a gentle nod, and then leapt out the window. I knew it would only be a matter of time before Alice came prancing up the stairs to drag me to the mall, so I jumped into clean clothes and dashed out to my truck. I got in the drivers seat and picked up my cell phone and called Jessica.
"Jess," I began when she picked up. "You wanna maybe catch a movie or something?"
I crossed my fingers, hoping she'd suggest something else. I didnt really wanna go to the movies; I just had to get away from all this vampire nonsense. The movie idea just slipped out.
"I dont know. Whats playing?" Jessica asked.
"Well I think really the only thing playing is another superhero movie remake." I said after thinking a moment.
"Kinda lame, but better than doing nothing. Alright, Ill meet you at the theater."

That was really good. It wasn't boring at all. Even the parts without alot of action ain't boring. Sometimes it's nice for things to be calm XD
