I believe there are many serums prepared from bovine blood products. If the BSE prion is present in the blood product, it will be present in the serum. The BSE prion is not exactly a living microorganism. It is nearly impossible to neutralize. Theoretically, if the prion is present in an animal, it can be passed through the products of the animal -including urine. So, if a mad cow pees on a cabbage, the plant may possibly become a MAD CABBAGE! RUN, SCULLY! Don't eat anything that had nostrils.
