Music produced in Ableton Live
Video edited in Final Cut Pro

The very first song that I wrote. Written in the sophomore year of high school and then rearranged and re-recorded in the junior year of college. The pretentious and wordy lyrics remind me how I used to think that big words meant big meanings (the phrase "gilded paint" in the first verse doesn't even make sense). The structure of the song is remarkably ubiquitous which makes it so obvious that I was very inexperienced at songwriting, and was still learning by imitation. but I kinda like all the imperfections because it just reminds me of the origins of my musical endeavors. Special thanks to my friend Scott Bergman for assuming the role of creative director (he liked the sound of that title, so I'll give it to him) and deftly maneuvering the teddy bear in the first scene using dental floss.

  • simplicity is not always a "shortcoming," my friend

  • @nolie94 very true. I think I worded that really poorly. I meant the chord progression was really ubiquitous and could be found anywhere and thus too "simple". Minimalism is something that I highly value, so again, poorly worded. I'll go fix it
