Man On The Moon - R.E.M. Cover

A really hard song to cover, especially the chorus, because the album version is full of little touches and over-dubbed parts that make it as powerful as it is.
I still think this is R.E.M.'s best ever single - a catchy, radio-friendly song, whilst still mature rock music and without sacrificing their integrity.

what is the guitar you use in the chorus?

and the effect on it? love that surfy sound

with it..takes me back to when the music was

really good in the usa... this is one of the few contemporary REM songs I can stomach and

I don't think I got the guitar sound right to be honest, but the effect used by R.E.M. is a slide guitar which helps give the song a country sound. I still think this is maybe R.E.M.s best single ever and one of the best alternative rock singles of all time.
