It's wonderful to see them singing their hearts out, but it must have been tough walking into the ceremony knowing Phantom of the Opera was the show to beat.

Also, how strange that they announced Lee Remick right after this when Scott Bakula performed in the concert version of Anyone Can Whistle, a show that Lee Remick originally starred in.

You know, I always wonder whether the conductors doing these award shows really try to stick to the tempos that the dancers are used to in the actual production, and I wonder - hey - if they are going a bit too fast or slow, they could really mess them up badly, especially when doing turns or any moves that are dependent on speed (and are always varied depending on the strengths of the particular dancers)... so maybe his ass was conducting too fast!

Thanks so much for posting this! I missed seeing this show by three years (spent time in NYC in 1991). This album is my personal anthem. I've seen the show performed locally, but it's fabulous to see Scott and Alison performing it!
