128 Split Fibre Cheek Brush is an unusual sized brush. It's compact and densely packed with a slight rounded edge. It contains both synthetic and natural fibers. It seems smaller than the 116, almost like a flattened 109. This brush is $32.00 and limited edition.

179 Angled Split Fibre Buffer Brush contains both natural and synthetic fibers. It's comparable to the size of the 182, and the handle is similar (I don't have a real 182 with that handle to compare, so I'm going by memory for that distinction, as mine have a SE handle). Also worth noting, MAC originally launched a 179 Body Buffer Brush with Skinsheen back in 2008, which is completely different from this one. This brush is $47.00 and limited edition.

234 Split Fibre Eye Blending Brush is a slightly tapered, round-edged brush with a fluffy feel with the same split of synthetic and natural fibers. This brush is $22.50 and limited edition.

235 Split Fibre All Over Eye Brush is a flat, slightly stubby eye brush with a barely domed edge. It looks like a taller 214 in a way. It has a synthetic and natural mix of fibers. This brush is $30.00 and limited edition.

  • its not the concept people, the most important thing about all this is that they are made in CHINA. WTF not in the USA, JAPAN, or CANADA but China. Talk about profits, what ever happened with quality first its all about profits now, how dissapointing but i still bought myself 2 of each so i will just shut up now.

  • @studpolicesexy You can't be sure that just because they were manufactured in China that they are poorer quality, though - that is a rather broad and pretty harsh generalization to make. It's one thing if your brushes disintegrated, smelled, leaked dye, broke, etc. and there were indications of reduced quality, but I haven't seen that yet. Only time will tell if they hold up well, of course, but I don't think anyone would want a review 2 years later :)

  • Hi, i have a question on the mac brushes in general, they are made from natural bristles but from what animal? like the 217?? are they made from boar? I would really be grateful if u could answer :)

  • @hani974 Usually goat I believe

  • @temptalia It's shaven animal hair, its goat or pony hair.

I like the skinsheen brush!!! I just work 2 years for mac so it was before my time, but I would love to get that! hope for a return :D.

  • omg i have 2 of these. one i bought in the collection one i found hidden in my mac this week they are the SOFTEST brushes i have ever used. i am in love <3

  • why don't you like the 227 for eyes? not criticizing, just wondering.

  • ...

  • @studpolicesexy I completely agree, I would have at least looked at them in the store, however I feel that since they are made in China I will not waste my time.

  • I gotta say you definitely missed the concept of these brushes. One brush two sides used in one product. A mineralized product ideally. For example swirl the eye brush in the e/s and apply in the same manner you would if the brush was all one type of bristle. You'll see that each side behaves in a unique manner and so much more efficiently especially when used with mineralized products. The results are ingenious.

  • i heard the kabuki brush is amazing for foundation, whose used it? if so how is it as a brush

  • Do you think the mac cinematic face brushes are worth buying? is the quality as good are original mac brushes?

  • Hi christine i know this is a bit late for me to ask, but why is the metal bit around the brush different to the original mac brushes. I bought the 234 and i noticed that the metal bit doesnt match the 217. When i saw the brushes on this video, i thought it might have been because you might have recieved these as samples?

  • Thanks for the review i purchased the 235 brush becuz i luv my 227,179 just becuz i love love my 182 and smoked ruby eyeshadow i am very very happy with my what i purchased.
