Persis Baklava Bar comes to Harvey Nichols, London

From July, sweet indulgences, Middle Eastern style will be available from the food court at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge.

Persis, will be serving the finest and unique collection of authentic Baklavas, Patisserie and Turkish delight to be enjoyed either instore, alongside traditional accompaniments such as Sharbat, Mint tea and Turkish coffee, or boxed for home consumption.

The Persis Baklava Bar will offer over 40 different types of Baklavas and Patisserie, divided up into 4 categories:

Baklavas
Sweet pastry made with layers of thin filo pastry, crushed nuts (Almond, Cashew, Pistachio or Walnuts) and honey which is slowly baked to a sticky, wafer like texture.

Shreddies
Shredded wheat pastry strands, with fillings of different nuts and fruit, deep fried in butter and then soaked in honey syrup. They are made into different shapes, such as tubes (Bourma), slices, bird nests and rolls (Katayef).

Cakes
A mixture of semolina, milk and butter, baked as a sponge and topped with different nuts and honey syrup. Filled with dried fruits and nuts, it is then stamped in different shapes known as Mamoul.

Coconuts
Fine coconut powder made into a marzipan like mix used to sandwich various nuts and dried fruits. These are the more colourfull range, bound to get you craving.

As a new and exclusive launch, Persis will also offer Chocolate Baklava, a new take on the original recipe, where individual pieces are hand dipped in the finest couverture chocolate.

Customers will be able to select and purchase their choice of Baklava and pastries or choose from a selection of ready gift boxed sets.
