Motion computing makes great computers and even their older computers can be used today without an issue. Motion has a line of health computers mostly sold to medical institutions, I was able to get an older used c5 computer from ebay. I was looking for something that was rugged (this computer can take a serious beating) had a wacom screen (full pressure for art) and had a 10 inch screen. This computer had it all. Already came with 2 gigs of ram and windows xp. I do plan on upgrading to windows 7 this week but for this demonstration I am using xp.

I was able to install a few art programs. In the video I am only showing sketchbook for windows but in other videos I plan on doing I will show other programs such as photoshop, art rage, sai and open canvas which all work without an issue.

All in all the computer is fantastic for on the go sketching as the size is relatively small yet you can still see everything on the screen. The handle makes it easy to carry, and the buttons up top can be programmed to be anything you want. Battery life is about 4 hours with the wifi off. Will see if the battery does better with windows 7, but it also depends on how bright your screen is. I give this computer 2 thumbs up from me. I love that it has a fan so unlike the ls800 it does not overheat.

Expect more videos featuring the c5 soon. If you have any questions be sure to contact me via email.

  • Hi there =)

I can't seem to find any information on any extra ports. I'm assuming because there are none? (USB, SD Card ect.)

  • @CoryslilDevil no ports unless it is on the dock.

  • Just the kind of pc digital sketchpad I was looking for so thanks for posting! Did you get the c5 docking station too, so you'd have USB ports for loading non web downloadable software? Bidding on a similar c5 on eBay right now. Looking forward to all your future posts. Great stuff!

  • @jenbcosgrove got the docking station so it was easier to install stuff on it and back up art :)

  • Have you managed to install Windows 7? I had trouble with the camera after my installation....does yours work? Do you happen to know if 2gb of ram is the max allowed in this?

  • @violetbc I got it to work just fine. As far as I know 2 gigs is max on it.

  • @PSONumber2 it does not, but the dock does and I use that.

  • God, I love your presents on Youtube. I've been waiting for the tablet to get for a while and all you videos have really really help in my decision. I think I'm going to finally take the plunge and get this baby.

  • I got myself a c5 :) .. Works great with sketchbook.. Any idea where i can get a easyconnect dock??? Thanks!

  • Interesting question: Does this thing have any USB ports? Because how do you install any art program in that laptop?

  • I'd love to see a video with color work done on the C5 to. Artrage would be a good example as we could see how colors being blended look.
