  • @johnnny5555 LOL!!!

  • @The79woody why would he cover a song 2 years after it came out?

  • @thamuddler

Thats the dumbest thing i've heard all day

  • does anyone know if there's a relationship between this song and zevon's seminole bingo...his (zevon's) biography indicates that his was purely inspired and original...

  • Hubbard sucks. McMurtry is the real deal

  • @cseeger1

FINALLY another sane person. I'm at a loss as to why so many people on here say they like Hubbard's version of McMurtry's song better. To me, Hubbard's version of Choctaw is the texas/outlaw country equivalent to playing a Joe Satriani song using only power chords. 98% of the actual music is simply not there.

Not to say I don't appreciate the cover, it's good - but it's nowhere close to the brilliance of the original.

    "Thanks." is not a sentence.

  • I like them both, McMurtrty & Hubbard, but the latter sounds as if he packaged it for SoundScan's Nashville demographic. I love getting into Texas hell, it's the only place I hear Bob Wills, Hank Sr. etc. on broadcast radio in HEAVY ROTATION! I'm a Yankee, but if Texas can get the secessionists organized TEA Parties will be old news and Kinky Friedman could be president! I saw McMurtry & The Heartless Bastards at a bar in Baltimore,MD they rocked the room like they were meth tweakers!
