Lyrics:

Why do you question
When there's no answer told?
Plain truth is nothing
You can't buy it when it's sold

Save all your money
And they won't reason why
Why all the worry?
They'll spend it when you die

Chorus:
Don't look for something
Plain truth is nothing,
nothing but the plain truth

You stand and wonder
Just let it warm your skin
Take all the living
Live life and let it win

Plain truth means nothing
Cry, laugh and cry again
You question answers
Born, live and die, Amen

Chorus:
Don't look for something
Plain truth is nothing,
nothing but the plain truth

[Repeat first and second verse and chorus]

  • That bass! OH MY GOD THAT BASS!!!

  • @ChronoKnuckles3 Tru dat.

  • @Ghoopty While it doesn't meet that criteria, it does seems like they had fun recording this song.

  • @ChronoKnuckles3 Yeah, I see where yer coming from. Gentle Giant is one of my Top 5 favorite bands (which is saying something), but even if this was a Kansas song, for example, I still don't think I'd listen to it. In the liner notes, they say, "We have recorded each composition with the one thought - that it should be unique, adventurous and fascinating". To me, this doesn't meet that criteria.

  • @Ghoopty I was asking, as a song by itself, is it bad?

Saying a song is bad by Gentle Giant standards isn't the same as saying it's bad.

Mainly because GG is so good to begin with.

  • @ChronoKnuckles3 That is my opinion, yes.

  • @Ghoopty Are you flat out saying that this song is bad in a general sense?

  • @musicman14220 Yer opinion, I s'pose.....I don't think Kansas was ever as imaginative (or as accomplished) as these guys.

  • @Ghoopty kansas is just as good!haha

  • nice violin solo
