  • @Kalefthebeast Avon did not kill string solely because of business although mostly. But you have to recall what string did to D. and I agree with String on taking D out he was weak. But you have to remember also String RATTED on Avon and lied, String was not a trustworthy person he had to go.In addition String was not as smart as a lot of people who watch this show thought he was.

  • "It's just business." Cold blooded line, since Avon killed basically his brother over business.

Also, I could have sworn there was something in this scene where Stringer reminisced about Avon, and it got tense for a second, because Avon didn't find it funny.

  • @Stevo985 I agree. Just pause it at 2:21 and look at Stringer's face when he asks the question. You can definitely see Stringer was surprised at the question, and didn't even want to answer it. I think the nail in the coffin was when Avon said, "Just seeing where you going to be at."

  • @Stevo985 Yes I got the same feeling from this scene. The line when Avon asks what time the meeting is, I thought that the reason Stringer stuttered was because he didn't want to tell him.

I'm not sure each knew the other crossed him, but because of all that had gone before (D'Angelo killing confession) it was like the end of an era for the 2 friends.

Amazingly well shot, lit and acted.

  • Can anyone tell me what brand of liquor is in the orange-y bottle is on the table that they are drinking?

  • @CuriousWhale He knew. Maybe not the specifics, maybe he didn't know he was going to be killed, but he knew that Avon had crossed him. In this scene they both knew they were doing each other.

That's why the "Us Motherfucker" is so ironic. That hug at the end is a goodbye, make no mistake.

This is why the scene is so good. They both knew what was coming,

but it's all in the game, right?

  • @CuriousWhale true. I forgot about that.

  • @DoubleT23Towson There was no way Stringer knew what was coming in this scene. Come on. He was feeling bad/guilty about sending Avon to prison, without knowing that Avon also betrayed him but to a far greater extent. That's what makes this scene that much more brilliant and even sad.
