Pedigree dogs part 1

I've always known Cavaliers have heart problems (particularly mitral valve disease) but wasn't aware they also suffer from syringomyelia. I feel sick that my favorite dog breed is also plaqued with some of the most painful and horrible diseases. Shame on all those idiotic and greedy breeders out there who don't care for the health of their animals.

And this is just one more reason why I ADOPT MUTTS! None of my mutts have genetic problems. They are living long healthy, full lives. My grandmothers purebred chihuahua suffered from a heart murmur, aggression, and eventually seizures.

My grandfather had a beagle cross that lived to be 18. She outlived his pure beagles by 5 or 6 years!

Thank you for generalizing "Americans". It is always a sign of intelligence (NOT) when someone like you throws an entire country in the same pot and makes assessments on what everyone is thinking.
This is not about anything other than finally speaking out on issues which should have been dealt with many years ago.
If this is propaganda why do we have such a huge increase of K9 disease over the last 60 years especially? The proof is in the pudding my friend.

dogs should be bred for funtion not looks, for example: guard: bullmastiffXrotweiler, shepard: collieXgerman sheperd. small hunter: jackrusselXborderterrier. cute dog: westieXyorkie and so on...... all will be more healthy, happyer, and possibly even better for their job...

My dog is a German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois hybrid, I got her from a breeder who specialises in breeding dogs as working animals rather than for looks.
