It is an interesting theory about the French having the best soldiers and pilots ever!

The french seem to forget that the British and Americans saved them twice from the Germans. Also the best unit in the French Army is the FOREIGN Legion made up of NON French.

Dont get me wrong, I am not French bashing at all. The French Resistance movement during World War II was THE most effective civilian resistance group against the German occupations of WWII. They took control of Paris before the Allies.

@mariusrodrigo sorry but you are wrong, on the ground it was the russians that won the war in europe, in the air it was the british RAF, with the help of czech pilots, i dont recall many french fighter plane's in air in 1940. My grandfather and my uncles told me of the stories of the luftwaffe flying over the isle of white and the spitfires and hurrianes taking them down, my grandfather fought on d-day and in the pacific, my greatfather fought in the somme and verdun

1st off the French were the MAIN force against the Germans and were vastly outnumbered in WW1 (Germany was the most populated country in E).

2nd The FFL is not the best unit and is composed by the FRENCH (35%)and nearly all the officers are French.

3rd The French Resistance was NOT the most effective resistance group, that would be Tito's Partisans from Yugoslavia. The FFI did not liberate Paris it was the French 2nd Armored Division.

The American and British did not save anything during WW1 you should open a history book. They helped but France was the main contributor to the allied victory.

As for the FFL it's not the best unit, the best are the commandos. 30% of the légionnaires and 90% of the officers are French BTW.

PS: I do not state that France is the best at anything but be a little balanced please.

Very good comment! Not many people know that it was in fact the French who were the most advanced in Aviation in World War One. They produced the most advanced planes and aircraft engines. They had the first fighter with a gun that fired through the propeller arc. They achieved this by putting steel delfector plates on the back of the propeller blades. However the very first country to officially use aircraft in combat was in Italy in North Africa in 1911. They dropped granades onto some Arabs.
