A country of southeast Asia comprising Singapore Island and adjacent smaller islands. A trading center as early as the 14th century, Singapore was later part of Johor, a region of the southern Malay Peninsula, under the Malacca Sultanate. The island of Singapore was ceded to the British East India Company in 1819, and the city was founded the same year by Sir Thomas Raffles. The British took complete control in 1824 and added Singapore to the newly formed Straits Settlements in 1826. During World War II it was held by the Japanese (1942-1945) before being retaken by the British. Singapore became a crown colony in 1946, a self-governing state in 1959, part of the Federation of Malaysia in 1963, and a fully independent republic in 1965. The city of Singapore is the capital. Population: 4,600,000.

  • @muhammadfaridsafi Singapore is most definitely seen internationally as a communist country because of its authoritarian regime. Many suggest Singapore has become nothing more than a clone of communist china where people have been robbed of their freedoms and citizens are too afraid to speak out about Human Rights crimes. Thankfully beating and torturing people is important to the international community and Singapore has been condemned for it.

  • @somuchsolittleful yes i studied on singapore constitution few years ago. And i know some people call singapore a communist country. i dont care about that, as when i die, i wont bring along politics.

  • @muhammadfaridsafi Oh, by the way, please put the math and the pure science books down for just a moment, and educate yourself on the singapore constitution. Have you even ever heard of it?

  • @muhammadfaridsafi You do not know about all crime committed because of censorship by the dictatorial regime, and there are many places with low crime--Hong Kong, Tokyo, even in Switzerland --and none resort to the Barbaric crimes of torturing prisoners that Singapore does. One only needs to read a few comments on singapore youtube videos to know there is much hate and racism in singapore. You keep mentioning America--it sure has made an impression on you.

  • @muhammadfaridsafi Sad, no really pathetic, that "educated" singaporeans are so ignorant about the rest of the world. Amazing that "educated" singaporeans know about tyranny, lack of freedom and liberty, about human rights and crimes against humanity, and will still desperately try to defend the ills of third world singapore society. Lol ridiculous comparing a little asian city with America. The astonishing mega influence of America is felt worldwide, and, all over Singapore.

  • @somuchsolittleful I mean study deep maths and pure sciences topics.

  • @somuchsolittleful people here are highly educated, not just those in the working industry, but also teenage students working hard to have a bright future. In america, students party always and has one of the lowest education standards in the world. We learn mathematical and science topics at the age of 16,while u americans study in the first year of university. Now which group of people is to be called as "The gone case society"?

Singapore is a first world country, americans a third world society.

  • @somuchsolittleful - ya ya ya very sad , screw you lah baby!, still trying to stain singapore again?

  • this video so lame sia i hate cartoons
