I agree, excellent interview. They want what every musician wants, whether playing metal or classical, to be judged on their individual performances and not based on whether they fit comfortably into a single genre. The best bands don't fit into one category. They explore different themes and often slip from one genre to another. Just as great actors switch from drama to comedy or playing good guys/bad guys. It's the fun of being creative, not setting limits but exploring new horizons.
