I'm thinking of getting a DSi XL and started looking at cards as i found out my Edge from my original DS wont work and came across the DS TWO.

When i was looking at other cards though they were talking about needing a DSi to be able to put on firmware and such as for some reason you can't do that on the DSi XL apparently. That was the acekard 2i though i read that about.

Does the DS TWO work on the DSi XL with just a simple download and move onto the sd card or do i need a DSi?

Hello,

Yes the Acekard 2i is still sold by some sellers with the 1.3 Bootloader.

So for the Acekard2i to work on DSi 1.4 & 1.4.1 it needs to be updated first.

The Supercard DSTWO is already pre-patched with the 1.4.1 Bootloader.

So there is no need to update the Supercard DSTWO.

It will play on the DSi XL right out the box.
